ON-CALL Per Diem Intake Coordinator

5PM-8AM Weekday

24 Hours Weekend

Minimum of 1 day/week and 1 weekend a month



  • Supplement the current CFG Call Center staff with a full-time Intake Coordinator to provide dedicated telephone coverage.
  • Answer all intake referral and inquiry calls live.  During business hours, the Intake Coordinator would be the primary person answering intake calls which would be routed to a dedicated phone line.  The phone system would be programmed to roll-over calls to other intake staff should the primary line be in use.  After hours the calls would be forwarded to a cell phone carried by the on-call clinician.
  • Screen all referrals for clinical appropriateness as defined by the admission protocols established by the unit.
  • Whenever possible ensure that insurance verification is obtained and whenever necessary obtain pre-certification.
  • Provide clinical supervision of the intake staff and administrative oversight of the function.Contact screening centers and other active referral sources on a daily basis to update them on bed availability. 
  • Produce follow-up letters to referral sources thanking them for their referral and providing, when appropriate and authorized by the patient, a brief treatment summary.
  • Maintain close ties with the clinicians who are providing psychiatric consultation services at the other facilities to ensure that all potential in-system referrals are considered for admission. 


  • Keep detailed statistics on activities and produce regular reports.


  •  Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field level, with at least 1 year  Behavioral      Health experience. 
  • Inpatient and/or intake experience preferred.
