MUST have NJ LAC/LSW license

Experience with children in behavioral health

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe environment of care.
  • Follows all policies and procedures set forth by CFG.
  • Maintains certification in behavior management system (Crisis Prevention Institute) annually.
  • Reduces risk of infection in employees, visitors and patient by following infection control policies. 
  • Maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Uphold CFG standards for patient satisfaction, by being aware of the impact of personal presentation. 
  • Contributes to organizational performance improvement activities.
  • Participates in hospital or program teams as assigned.
  • Recognizes change and is open to the ongoing process and new approaches
  • Collects data in so much as it contributes to and/or affects performance improvement. 
  • Promotes positive working relationships among staff and other departments.
  • Takes initiative to resolve conflict.
  • Uses effective and assertive communication skills.
  • Assists with orientation and job-specific training.
  • Keeps director informed of status of activities, problems and new initiatives.
  • Actively works to achieve the mission and vision of the program.
  • Maintains strict adherence to all confidentiality and privacy laws established by HIPAA.
  • Discusses only relevant information in private areas and only with those who need to know in order to provide the best clinical quality of care.
  • Disposes of documentation appropriately.
  • Keeps files secure. Documents release of information appropriately.
  • Identifies problems and develops recommendations for resolution. 
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills and is able to prioritize effectively.
  • Assumes personal responsibility for ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Attends CEU classes and workshops and in-services as deemed necessary to maintain credentials and as mandated by director.
  • Meets identified personal competencies as indicated on performance evaluation.
  • Maintains licensure.
  • Participates in program planning activities as requested. Actively gives input and makes suggestions for improvement.
  • Evaluates relevant data. Considers alternatives in an objective manner.
  • Assures good clinical quality of treatment.
  • Provides supervision of clinicians, interns and direct care staff; Participates in case conferencing and record review.
  • Completes intake assessments and determines appropriate level of care.
  • Assists in coordinating services with outside providers.
  • ASSISTS IN SCHEDULING STAFF IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH ALL REGULATIONS AND POLICIES.
  • Acts in a leadership manner in the absence of the director and makes decisions on their behalf.

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in field of counseling, social work, psychology or other related field.
  • Current Clinical Licensure in the state of New Jersey (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc).
  • Certification to supervise in the state of New Jersey (certification letter or ACS credential) preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory role, three years experience in the field of child and adolescent mental health.
