  • Managing and leading the psychiatric operations of the CFG hospital client site in Mt. Holly, NJ and other unanticipated hospital client sites in the State of NJ;
  • Working along with CFG and the client to establish and enforce sound clinical policies, procedures and practices as they pertain to patient care;
  • Clinically collaborating with Advanced Practice Nurses at the Facility;
  • Working with Medical Affairs in with credentialing and scheduling of psychiatrists and APNs to ensure that the department is adequately staffed;
  • Assisting in the recruitment and selection of new clinicians;
  • Providing a full range of psychiatric services to assigned patients. Services provided include direct care of patients in the clinical setting including: assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients and determining the degree of disabilities in patients. Psychiatrist will prescribe medication to patients as deemed necessary and will conduct medication management. All services to be documented in the patient's electronic medical record;
  • Analyzing and evaluating patient data and test findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder;
  • Prescribing, directing, and administering psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders;
  • Collaborating with physicians, psychologists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress;
  • Gathering and maintaining patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals;
  • Examining or conducting laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder;
  • Participating in treatment team activities to include the development and periodic review of patient treatment plans and taking necessary steps when a patient refuses treatment;
  • Conducting and reviewing capacity evaluations;
  • Providing crisis intervention training to staff;
  • Promoting a positive working relationship with Health Services, mental health staff, correctional staff and CFG administrative staff; and
  • Ensuring the implementation of CQI process and programs.


  • Must have a Medical Doctor Degree in Psychiatry.
  • Must be licensed as a psychiatrist in the state of New Jersey.
  • Must have 2 years of experience in providing services in inpatient/outpatient environment including 1 year of experience in a medical director role.
  • Must complete a satisfactory background investigation which includes a criminal check and verifiable clinical references.
  • Must be clinically privileged and credentialed at the hospital at which services are provided.
  • Must be able to obtain privileges to perform and participate in Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) program at the hospital at which services are provided.


Job location: permanently placed at client's office location in Mount Holly, NJ.
